Final Design Development meeting!

We had our final design development meeting today, and were told that the builder has finally started on the contract drawings. Scary!

We went through the last set of changes – the walk-in robe hadn’t greatly diminished in size as I’d feared, so we can still fit that double-bed in there if we want! Probably not, but we might have space for a chair which would be handy.

The vanities were all made the correct sizes, though the changes to the powder room layout hadn’t yet been made. I’m still not convinced about the change but we’ll see.

Before the DD meeting, I had an appointment with HS Reflections for a lighting consult, during which I made some changes to the lighting plan so we went through those again.

I then produced my multi-page list of random questions and despite the organisation I think we still forgot a few things, but those are minor (e.g. additional powerpoints etc).

So all going well, we should be getting the last set of changes next week and then we need to wait for the next lot of variation costings. I’m expecting it to be big! Also next week, we should be getting the lighting consult details and costings.

Next up, the architect advised us to get started on the interior selections and not wait until pre-start. And I do want to get the tile selections over and done with as it will help to define the style a bit better so should make things a bit easier. So it looks like I’ll be calling the interior designer sometime soon!
