Amidst all the hassles of building, it’s sometimes easy to forget the good stuff that gets me motivated. Such as Sustainable House Day.
Sustainable House Day is on the 7th and 14th September this year. It’s a program where people who have built sustainable houses volunteer to open their doors to the public in order to showcase their sustainable features.
This year, our architect firm is organising a bus tour of houses in the Perth metro area on the 14th. This sounds very cool and I want to go. One house, in particular, sounds intriguing. It features “Perth’s first domestic closed-loop geo-thermal heating/cooling system”, and is a short walk from where we will be building.

In other news, a new series of Josh’s House starts tomorrow, where he goes into the details of how his house has performed over the last year. All episodes are available via Vimeo and YouTube, links to each from his website.
What a fantastic idea. Showing homes and the bus trip. I hope you will be allowed to take photos.
I hope so too!
