Retaining

Oh the mundanity of it all! One of the approval conditions on our planning application is retaining all the way down the sides of the house. Ho hum. It’s a cost we didn’t want, and the retaining will mostly be below ground level anyway.

As we’re trying to contain costs, the builder has advised that they will do something called “panel and post”, which they say is a good cost-effective option. To be honest, it’s not something we remotely care about, especially seeing as we won’t see it – oh ok, maybe a tiny bit will stick out but it’s hardly worth getting up in arms about I don’t think.

Anyway, here is the builder’s standard range:
